Photography

Admittedly, photography is my second love behind writing, but I have a much more functional, healthy relationship with it. Where writing can be uncertain, even barren, photography is instinctual, and steadfast. I trust my cameras, know their functions, and they carry out my orders without question, or falter.

Perhaps it's from living a life outdoors, but I've always shot natural, existing light, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. In a world of increasing artifice, my lens seeks what's real, and true.

The camera has been such an invaluable passport to places both near and far for me, has brought about situations and experiences that I never could've found on my own, and helped shape who I am. I owe it a lot, and though I may put it down for stretches of time, the camera always let's me return when I'm ready, or feel inspired.

A constant companion to be sure, and one that I'll keep astride until my last day. Hopefully that happens to be somewhere picturesque.
