Tecovas Boots

In 2015, Paul Hedrick, the founder of Tecovas Boots came to with the vision for his brand new company, based on a really clever concept of selling direct to consumer to eleminate retail markup. He had found my work online, and as it fit in with the direction he wanted to take the brand, we teamed up, and the rest is history.

Since then, I've had the pleasure of doing a handful of shoots with him, and been able to create the bulk of their content up to this point. Paul's become a friend, and I've become a loyal ambassador, as I wear the boots just about everyday. Really ideal situation for me, as I'd much prefer to have long-term working relationships with clients.

First order of business was to document the complex process required to hand make these boots. So we headed down to Léon, Mexico, and filmed in the factory for 3 days.

Rest is about the process, etc. While directing this short film, I was also shooting still photos to maximize the content for his launch, which are featured in the gallery below.

We then needed to shoot some lifestyle stuff, so we recruited my friends Julian & Kate Pastrana to be our first models, who graciously let us shoot in their design-magazine-worth home in Aubrey, Texas, just north of Denton.

We also shot in my mother's hometown of Nocona, Texas, which has become a go-to location for me when it comes to this sort of this. We shot in Daddy Sam's Saloon, among other places.

Make cowboy boots great again.
